He initiated the field audit function for TCF which examines the quality of collateral securing bank loans and was responsible for the commercial credit underwriting function which prepares detailed analyses of the risk factors to repayment of debt.

Karleen spent 15 years working in the Accounting Department for the City of Ann Arbor, where she was promoted several times until her last role as Accounting Services Manager. She worked heavily with bank reconciliations, asset management, general ledger detail and played a significant role in their annual audit. Karleen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University. She also has a Master of Accountancy from Walsh College.
